Summary:

The Benefits Sales consultant, reporting to the Senior Manager of Compliance & Public Affairs, will work out of our headquarters on the northwest side of Chicago (near O'Hare Airport). This position is the lead sales contact for our Consumer-Driven Health Plan (CDHP) and Compliance products and services. In this role, the CDHP Sales Consultant will interact with producers, employers, internal employees and business partners to distribute our CDHP and Compliance products and services. Key to this role will be the establishment and maintenance of relationships with these parties. Persistent quote follow-up and external appointments are critical for this role.

Key responsibilities:

  • Sales Manages the daily sales activity of our CDHPs & Compliance products and services. Works with producers, employers and other parties to distribute our products and services, while managing all sales interactions from quote through policy sale. Meets the established monthly and annual sales goals for each of our products and services.
  • Relationships Builds and maintains strong, long-lasting relationships with producers, employers and other relevant parties. Guides decision makers to the appropriate product or service, while managing proposals and sales closings.
  • Growth Works to achieve organic growth through new and different relationships. Identifies and targets additional opportunities for growth.
  • Assessment Continually evaluates effectiveness of sales processes and makes recommendations for changes as appropriate.
  • Education Serves as an educational resource for our CDHP & Compliance products and services. This may include, but is not limited to participation in trainings, webinars, seminars, and the development of communications and resources.
  • Intelligence Utilizes relationships to obtain market intelligence about our competitors. Maintains ongoing pulse of the marketplace, while identifying and reporting key findings to management. Recommends enhancements and changes for CDHP and Compliance products and services based and market demand and/or industry trends

Requirements:

  • College Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • 3 + years' experience in a fast-paced business environment, preferably with 3+ years in the health insurance industry or a sales environment while providing training and/or making presentations with related products and services
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to be assertive in a tactful manner
  • Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment while remaining professional, courteous and helpful
  • Willingness to be flexible to accommodate and meet customer needs; must be sales minded and service oriented
  • Ability to travel locally
  • Bilingual English and Spanish a plus
